Procrastinating....

Well covering my sewing case wasn't especially high on the list of priorities at this time of the year but I really felt the need to finish something off.

So here it is...idea thought of at least 3 years ago, selvedges ironed and arranged Friday, all sewn together Friday afternoon (with assistance from 3 small boys...T brought the strips over, H tried to change the stitch on the sewing machine and K thought the peddle on the floor looked interesting). Appliqued to the sewing case Saturday evening and second side finished off this morning.

Very happy with the result, looks much better than the slightly grubby green it has replaced.

Hope you are all having a productive weekend,

Goodbye 2013

It's that time of year when everyone says "I don't know where the year has gone"….. sadly last Saturday marked our last Sue Ross class of the year at Material Obsession.  We spent the day talking about quilts that we've done this year but there seemed to be more talk about the quilts we haven't finished!

As per usual there was a huge amount of talk and action happening, fabrics flying everywhere.  Sue put her latest animal block up on the wall - it's a very very cute pigeon.

But the highlight of the day was our lunch.  Each month our trusted lunch lady, Liesel, whips up some delicious delight for us.  But this weekend we enjoyed a proper lunch - we set the table with this fabulous table cloth Sue bought along - she is lucky it made it back in her car safely without bits cut out of it!  Plus plates, champagne, homemade rocky road and cake!!!

Unfortunately I don't have any more photos of the day - maybe someone could please post a few?

Whilst it's a little while again before we all meet again, I can't wait to see what everyone is doing so please keep us updated via the blog.

Love to all my quilting girls and their families, stay safe, be kind to each other and stitch like there is no tomorrow!

Kim xx

PS - I'm going to attempt to make it to swap day on the 7th but I suspect I won't be able to lift my arms to drive the car with the scheduled demolition of my tiles and kitchen and laundry for the 6th!!!!!

Now for the corners....

I was really happy today as I got a little more done

Dog very unhappy as he didn't get a walk, where did the time go.

Anyway now the corners. Does anyone know the measurements if you do can you email me.

You all know I'm lousy with maths.

Thanks in anticipation...

So much to do.....

Hi Ladies, it has been too long. Thought I would show you a sample of six (yes 6) quilts on the go at the moment. The wall shows bits and pieces of the quilts. I was hoping to have them all finished for the last class, Yes I'm laughing too, as if!
The next picture is the block of the month. Finished all the blocks but now started on the star and what to do in the corners. I have used a lot of Anna Maria Horner's fabrics for the star ,love her stuff. I also am wondering what to put around each block to bring them up to size I think I have found the right material but not sure.

Pity life keeps getting in the way and we have to work.

Anyone got any more pictures to share.

Here hoping....

Sneak Peak

Thought I might share a little bit of my progress…..  unfortunately a lot more sewing than I initially anticipated, however coming together albeit slowly.  Sorry for the poor quality photos, but you'll get the gist of how it's coming along.

Now to clean up a little bit so at the very least I can cook some dinner tonight!

Enjoy the sunshine (and brisk breeze).
