Not just a walk in the park

I love Sue Ross'quilts, and always seem to manage one in a calendar year.  Last weekend's offerings of projects to work on were all cool, but one in particular caught my eye, unusual, lots of different angles and a way to use up some of the stash.

I cut out two blocks worth on Saturday and then sewed up the first on Sunday.  Hmmmm .... attention to detail is required.  I haven't worked out how to sew it up with less than 8 "Y"seams, but only 4 of these are tight angles, the others easier to sew.  But, I decided that you clearly need to cut accurately and sew with precision. So for the second, I starched the cut out block pieces.  Better, but still pretty tough to get all my points as tidy as I would like them.

Next I am going to try starching the fabric before I cut.  I am thinking I won't be able to do more than 16 of these - the centre of a larger quilt for one of the21st quilts I need to do this year.

I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for a lovely day by the way.
