Goosey goosey gander

I think I have a subliminal problem with bias.  In this block there is a lot of it .... The orange plaid triangles I sewed and then cut to size.  My flying geese pieces were pretty square, but as I found out later not perfect.  Then I cut the kite pieces using the kaleido ruler and cut them a bit bigger so I had some wriggle room.  But when you sewed the kites to the geese - so to speak - the bias on the kites definitely did some stretching.  If Elizabeth hasn't started yet, I would think foundation piecing would work really well.  In fact you could even foundation piece on your geese once you had made them.  There was some serious pressing in the final stages, and also i found the last triangles were bigger then they needed to be.  I trimmed my block before adding the final triangles .... And voila!  Don't look too closely at the points though.  I estimate a 50% accuracy rate.

  1. Hey it looks great. I haven't started so will take note, butbI'm still trying to get last months block done and having trouble with the bias there. Will post when done. Also can you try fixing the photo in the last post as not showing at all and I'm looking forward to seeing it
