Progress Report

This year the Hexy Ladies are doing a Mystery BOM with Sue Ross at Material Obsession.  Each month we are tasked with one machine pieced and one hand pieced block.  The "mystery" is we don't know how the finished quilt will look, and to be honest I don't know if our fearless teacher Sue even knows!

So far we seem to be keeping up (with the exception of me!).  Here is a sneak peak at our blocks so far..... all so very different but equally beautiful.

In between my Mystery BOM I did spend a couple of days making a little wall hanging for my mum for mothers day.  Luckily for my mum I love her dearly, as I very nearly wanted to keep this one!  Unfortunately the photo looks a little dark as my lighting at home is quite poor.

Each of the flowers are raw edged appliquéd and machine quilted to accentuate the petals.  This is a technique I learnt at a workshop with BariJ back in 2011.  Give it a go - it is great fun and it doesn't matter if you make a mistake as it all blends in - just my type of sewing!!!

Happy Sewing!
