I blame Denny .....

I had been seeing the whole economy block thing going off at the various blogs I lurk around, you know, Red Pepper Quilts etc. etc. etc.  But when Denny brought her little beauties in last month, I thought, I'll just try a couple.  A couple, for fun you know, with a few scraps hanging around the machine.  Well, more than a hundred different fabrics later, and that isn't including the ones I trialled but rejected, I had a cot quilt.

It was seriously addictive and pretty cool.  I did trim back each block after I sewed it, and it went together like a dream.  I think I will put a border around it to make it a little bit bigger as it is only 30 inches square as it is.   Photos below.   Are we catching up on the Easter weekend?

  1. Gorgeous - and I love that I can work out whose quilt it is by the fabrics! I can't join you for an Easter gathering but will try and post some progress shots soon.

  2. What a beautiful quilt and very inspirational. I need to make a single bed 'animal' quilt for the lady that we got our new cat from. I think a 12" block of the above will work and use up a few scraps!). Sorry won't be able to make it for the Easter gathering...orienteering again.

  4. Wow Kimmie - you are a legend! Those blocks look wonderful and great use of colour and fabric combinations. So far I have only made 22.....but you've inspired me! I'll get more done these holidays. Plan to do a little garment sewing as well....
